Taali vs Fabric

Two AI hiring products with different shapes. Fabric runs a wide pipeline from sourcing to interview; Taali goes narrow and deep on evidence — what a candidate can actually do, and what each claim on their report is based on.

The short version

Choose Fabric if you need breadth: a sourcing database, voice interviews, and connections to many applicant tracking systems, backed by SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certification.

Choose Taali if you need to defend a decision: every claim on a candidate report is quoted verbatim from their CV and dropped if it cannot be found there, assessments run in a real repository where the candidate works with an AI assistant, and scoring is deterministic with a human on every consequential call.

Every Fabric statement below is a present-tense fact taken from Fabric's own public pages, numbered to a source and stamped with the date we retrieved it. Where Fabric is stronger, we say so.

How the two compare

Evidence behind a claim on a candidate report Every requirement judgement carries quotes from the candidate's own CV. Each quote is checked verbatim against the source document before the report renders; quotes that cannot be located are dropped, and a requirement left with no surviving quote is marked unknown rather than scored. Fabric's public pages describe AI agents that screen and interview candidates and "shows reasoning so the call you make is informed". We found no published statement that claims on a candidate's report are verified against the source document.[2]As of 20 Aug 2026
What the candidate actually does Works in a real repository in the browser — editor, terminal, running tests — with an AI assistant alongside, on a task drawn from the role. Is sourced, contacted, screened, scheduled and interviewed by AI agents from a job description: "Enter your job description. Fabric's AI agents will do sourcing, outreach, screening, scheduling, and interviews for you."[2]As of 20 Aug 2026
Is the candidate's use of AI measured? Yes, and it is the point. Prompts, edits and test runs are captured during the session, and AI fluency is scored as a first-class dimension alongside code craft. Fabric's public product pages describe screening and interview scoring. We found no published statement that a candidate's use of AI assistants is itself measured.[2]As of 20 Aug 2026
How a decision is produced and audited Aggregation is deterministic — the same inputs produce the same number. Every decision carries the policy basis it came from, an approval is refused when the score underneath it has gone stale, and advances, interviews, offers and hires stay with a person. Fabric states the decision stays with the customer: "The hiring decision stays with you and your hiring manager." We found no published description of a per-decision audit trail.[2]As of 20 Aug 2026
Data-flow and AI disclosure A public subprocessor page names every subprocessor with its function, location and transfer mechanism, updated before one is added or replaced. Candidate-facing surfaces are audited so a candidate is told they are working with an AI assistant wherever they are. No external algorithmic audit published yet. Displays "SOC 2 COMPLIANT" and "ISO 27001 CERTIFIED" badges and states AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, and "GDPR and CCPA workflows". We found no named subprocessor list and no EU AI Act transparency statement on the public site.[1][2]As of 20 Aug 2026
Published pricing No published price list yet — talk to us at hello@taali.ai. Every AI action is metered per candidate and runs against a monthly budget cap you set; the agent pauses when it reaches the cap. Publishes monthly credit tiers at $0, $199, $399 and $499, plus custom enterprise pricing. Credits cover sourcing; the interviewer is quote-only — "AI Interview agents are priced custom".[1]As of 20 Aug 2026

What a decision looks like in Taali. Each card carries the score it rests on and the reason it was produced — the recruiter approves or overrides.

Where Taali is stronger

  • Claims are traceable to the source document. A requirement judgement is only shown when a verbatim quote from the CV survives verification; the failure mode is an honest "unknown", not a confident number.
  • The assessment is the job. A real repository, a terminal, real tests, and an AI assistant in hand — not a proxy task, a recorded answer, or a phone screen.
  • AI fluency is a scored dimension. How a candidate delegates to, describes to, and checks an AI assistant is the thing being measured, rather than something to detect and prohibit.
  • Decisions carry their basis. Each one records the policy it came from, and a stale score cannot be approved.
  • The data flow is published. Named subprocessors with locations and transfer mechanisms, and AI disclosure audited on every candidate-facing surface.

Where Fabric is stronger

An honest list

  • Security certifications. Fabric displays SOC 2 and ISO 27001 badges. Taali holds neither today.[1]
  • Published pricing. Fabric publishes monthly tiers. Taali's price list is not published yet.[1]
  • Voice interviewing. Fabric ships an AI interview agent. Taali has no voice screening today.[2]
  • Integration breadth. Fabric lists two-way integrations with ten applicant tracking systems, including Greenhouse, Lever, Workday and iCIMS. Taali has one deep Workable integration.[2]
  • Sourcing. Fabric sources from a database it describes as 1.3 billion profiles. Taali does not do licensed-database sourcing at all.[2]
  • Published customer outcomes. Fabric publishes named customer results. Taali's case studies are not published yet.[2]

Frequently asked questions

What is the main difference between Taali and Fabric?

Fabric describes itself as an end-to-end agentic hiring platform covering sourcing, outreach, screening, scheduling and AI interviews. Taali is narrower: it scores engineering candidates against a role and runs assessments in a real repository where the candidate works with an AI assistant. The clearest technical difference is evidence — on a Taali report, every requirement judgement carries quotes taken verbatim from the candidate's own CV, and a quote that cannot be located in the source document is dropped rather than shown.

Can Taali run alongside my existing ATS?

Yes. Taali is designed to sit beside an applicant tracking system rather than replace it. Taali has one deep Workable integration, connected per organisation over OAuth, that reads candidates and writes decisions back. If you use a different ATS, Taali can still run on candidates who apply through a Taali job page.

How do I switch from Fabric to Taali?

There is no data migration to do first. Taali runs on one live role: you connect the role, Taali scores the applicants against its requirements, and you compare the reports against whatever you use today. Nothing in your existing pipeline has to be turned off to make that comparison.

How is candidate data handled?

Taali publishes a subprocessor page listing every subprocessor by name with its function, location and transfer mechanism, and updates it before a subprocessor is added or replaced. Candidate-facing surfaces are audited so a candidate is told they are working with an AI assistant at every point where they are.

What does Taali not do?

Taali does not source from a licensed profile database, does not run voice interviews, and does not hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification today. Fabric offers all three. Taali also does not email candidates about a role when an ATS owns that conversation.

Does a human still make the hiring decision?

Yes. Score aggregation is deterministic, so the same inputs produce the same number, and each decision carries the policy basis it was produced from. Advances, interviews, offers and hires stay with a person, and an approval is refused when the score it rests on has gone stale.
